My client is seeking a motivated Systems Engineer to support the engineering management of their existing product portfolio, while also contributing to the development of new and innovative prototype systems. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone early in their career to develop core systems engineering skills within a collaborative and forward-thinking team.
About the Role
The successful candidate will work with requirements capture, engineering documentation, system architecture support and integration activities. They will work closely with internal engineering teams, suppliers and partners to ensure smooth project delivery and effective system performance throughout development, testing and acceptance.
This role offers broad exposure across mechanical, electrical, software and systems disciplines, making it ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving and hands-on engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in capturing and documenting system requirements from stakeholders.
- Support engineering teams through concept development, design and integration phases.
- Contribute to interface definitions, architecture documentation and engineering records.
- Support coordination of engineering activity across mechanical, electrical, software and systems teams.
- Participate in verification, validation and acceptance testing for products and prototypes.
- Provide support with configuration management, change control and engineering governance.
- Assist in preparing technical documentation including specifications, test plans and design reviews.
- Collaborate with suppliers, partners, classification societies and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Degree, HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical/Electronic, Software Engineering or related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Good verbal communication skills and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications or technical documentation.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within Maritime, Autonomy, Defence or Robotics fields.
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering concepts or lifecycle models.
- Experience contributing to multidisciplinary hardware/software projects.
