We’re currently working with a specialist engineering and manufacturing business operating within the marine and advanced technology sector, who are looking to add a Workshop Technician to their growing team.

This is a varied hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working across mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems within a workshop environment. The position would suit somebody practical, adaptable and happy supporting multiple areas of the business when required.

The Role

The successful candidate will be involved in the assembly, testing and preparation of engineered systems and components, alongside supporting warehouse and stock-related activities. Day-to-day responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Mechanical, electrical and hydraulic assembly work
  • Testing and inspection of systems and components
  • Following technical drawings and build instructions
  • Completing build documentation and paperwork
  • Supporting quality inspection activities where required
  • Kitting, picking and packing components
  • Stock control and stock checking
  • Maintaining a clean and organised workshop
  • Operating workshop equipment including forklifts and lifting equipment
  • Supporting wider workshop and operational activities as needed
What They’re Looking For
  • Previous experience within a workshop, engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Mechanical or electro-mechanical assembly experience would be beneficial
  • Ability to read and follow engineering drawings/instructions
  • Strong attention to detail and good housekeeping standards
  • Comfortable working within a small team environment
  • Flexible attitude and willingness to support across different areas of the business
  • Forklift or crane experience would be advantageous, although training may be available
