This is a full-time permanent position based in Lymington.
The role involves working within a dedicated davits department, responsible for finishing large carbon fibre structures (typically 2m-4m in size). The role includes a full end-to-end painting process, requiring strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.
Key responsibilities:- Surface preparation including heavy grinding, sanding and fairing
- Application of primers and marine paint systems
- Building multiple paint layers to a high-quality finish
- Final finishing including machine polishing and detailing
- Supporting basic fit-out work on completed components
- Occasionally assisting in the wider shipyard with boat repairs and full resprays when required
This is a rare opportunity for a painter who enjoys variety and takes pride in high-quality finishes. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and confident working across different stages of the paint process.
