We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing technology and engineering business for a highly organised Vetting Administrator to support its personnel security processes.
Reporting to the Security Manager, you’ll coordinate screening and security clearance administration for employees and contractors, maintain accurate records and guide colleagues through the vetting process.
This role would suit an experienced administrator who enjoys working in a structured environment and understands the importance of accuracy, confidentiality and discretion. Previous vetting experience would be beneficial, although candidates with strong administration skills gained within a confidential or regulated environment are also encouraged to apply.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) screening.
- Administer UK Security Vetting (UKSV) applications and security clearance processes.
- Support employees, contractors and line managers throughout screening and vetting.
- Track applications and follow up outstanding information to meet agreed timescales.
- Maintain accurate personnel security records, registers, trackers and databases.
- Support clearance reviews, renewals and ongoing aftercare.
- Record personnel changes, including role changes and transfers, that may affect security requirements.
- Maintain overseas travel and visit records, and support visitor administration.
- Provide wider administrative support to the security team and help improve processes.
You’ll bring a dependent, proactive approach, handle sensitive information with discretion and be eligible to obtain the required UK security clearance. Experience supporting personnel security, BPSS screening or UKSV processes would be an advantage, as would a background in defence, engineering, maritime or another regulated sector. Current UK security clearance is desirable.
