Manufacturing Engineer Fareham, Hampshire £45,000 - £55,000 Full-Time, Permanent My client is seeking an electrically biased Manufacturing Engineer to join their growing engineering and production team in Fareham. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and improving manufacturing processes for advanced electrical and electromechanical products within a highly regulated, technology-driven environment. The successful candidate will combine strong manufacturing engineering expertise with a solid understanding of electrical systems, driving improvements across production processes, digital manufacturing systems, and new product introduction activities. The Role Working closely with Engineering, Production, and Operations teams, you will be responsible for delivering efficient, repeatable, and scalable manufacturing processes while acting as a key contributor to the continued development of the company's Manufacturing Execution System (MES). This role would suit someone who enjoys solving production challenges, implementing process improvements, and supporting the manufacture of complex electrical assemblies and systems. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for electrical and electromechanical assemblies. Configure and optimise Manufacturing Execution System (MES) workflows and digital work instructions. Support the transition of new products from design into production. Drive process improvement initiatives focused on quality, efficiency, cost, and delivery performance. Analyse production data and develop reporting tools to improve operational visibility. Integrate manufacturing systems, equipment, and business software to streamline production activities. Conduct process studies, workflow reviews, and capacity assessments to improve throughput. Design and implement tooling, fixtures, and production aids. Work closely with production teams to resolve manufacturing and assembly challenges. Ensure designs are suitable for efficient manufacture and assembly.Requirements Degree or HNC/HND in Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline. Proven Manufacturing Engineering experience within a complex engineering or production environment. Strong electrical or electromechanical manufacturing background. Hands-on experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Experience working with BOMs, ERP/MRP systems, and production planning tools. Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies. Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly documentation. Excellent problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.Desirable Experience Marine, aerospace, defence, automotive, electronics, or other high-reliability manufacturing sectors. Knowledge of low-voltage electrical systems, control panels, cabling, or system integration. Lean or Six Sigma certification.
