Marine Resources is recruiting an Accounts Assistant on behalf of an innovative maritime technology business for an initial six-month contract.
This is an opportunity for an organised, tech-savvy finance professional with strong accounts payable experience to support a busy finance function. You'll be confident using Xero, comfortable learning new systems and proactive in improving processes to keep things running efficiently.
Key Responsibilites
- Process supplier invoices accurately, ensuring the correct coding and approvals.
- Maintain purchase ledger records and reconcile supplier statements.
- Prepare payment runs for approval and resolve invoice discrepancies.
- Respond to supplier queries and work with colleagues to resolve outstanding issues.
- Support bank reconciliations, expense processing and month-end activities.
- Keep financial records accurate and up to date within Xero.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and reduce manual administration.
- Provide wider accounts and administrative support as required.
You’ll bring previous accounts assistant or purchase ledger experience, with a strong understanding of accounts payable and practical experience using Xero. Confident with technology and spreadsheets, you'll pick up new systems quickly and enjoy finding more efficient ways of working. Excellent attention to detail, clear communication and the ability to manage competing priorities are essential, alongside a proactive approach and availability to start immediately.
