Chandlery Assistant Manager

Assistant Manager – Marine Chandlery Are you passionate about retail and all things marine? We’re working with a well-established chandlery business on the South Coast, and they’re now looking for a proactive Assistant Manager to join their friendly team. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role where you’ll be a key part in the daily running of the store. You’ll support the Chandlery Manager in ensuring smooth operations, maintaining high standards, and delivering first-class service to a loyal and knowledgeable customer base. It’s a great opportunity for someone who has a good understanding of marine products. What You’ll Be Doing: Assisting with the day-to-day management of the store, stepping up in the Manager’s absence Supporting and guiding the team on the shop floor, ensuring customers get the help they need Helping to drive sales and maximise product visibility through merchandising and promotions Handling customer queries and resolving issues with a positive, solutions-focused mindset Maintaining excellent standards of cleanliness, health & safety, and product presentation Contributing to stock control, cash handling, and admin tasks where needed Acting as a keyholder with responsibility for opening/closing the storeAbout You: Previous retail experience  A genuine interest in chandlery or marine products (a background in boating would be a bonus!)
