I’m working with a well-established marine business based at Portland Marina that’s looking to recruit a Boatyard Technician to join its experienced team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work across boat repair, maintenance and refit projects, with the chance to work on a wide variety of vessels up to 24 metres.
Whether your background is in boatbuilding, marine engineering, boat repair or refit, this role offers plenty of variety and the opportunity to continue developing your skills within a professional boatyard environment.
The Role
As a Boatyard Technician, you’ll be involved in a broad range of maintenance and refit work, including:
- Carrying out repair, maintenance and refit work on vessels up to 24 metres
- Installing and replacing marine hardware, including hatches, deck fittings and seacocks
- Basic marine electrical work, including pumps and lighting
- Plumbing and associated boat systems
- Polishing, finishing and general boat maintenance
- Delivering work to a high standard while working safely and efficiently to agreed timescales
