Night Marina Operative Location: Hampshire
Salary: Competitive
Hours: 12-hour shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays
We’re currently recruiting for a Marina Operative to join a well-established marina team on the South Coast.
This is initially a night-shift position, working 12-hour shifts on a rota basis. However, the role is likely to develop into a mixed day and night shift pattern, so flexibility around working hours will be important.
The role is all about keeping the marina safe, secure and well looked after outside of normal daytime operations. You’ll carry out regular patrols, complete safety checks, monitor CCTV and keep an eye on access to secure areas, while also providing a friendly point of contact for customers when required.
- Carrying out regular patrols of the marina and surrounding areas
- Completing safety and security checks
- Monitoring CCTV and marina access
- Responding appropriately to any issues or incidents
- Providing a friendly and professional service to customers
- Using computer systems to record information and carry out day-to-day tasks
- Working both independently and as part of the wider marina team
What we’re looking for
You don't necessarily need previous marina experience for this role. We're looking for someone who is reliable, level-headed and comfortable working independently, particularly during quieter night-time hours.
You'll ideally have:
- Previous customer-facing or customer service experience
- A practical, can-do attitude
- The ability to remain calm and make sensible decisions under pressure
- Confidence working independently as well as within a team
- Good basic IT skills and the ability to learn new systems
- A flexible approach to working hours and shift patterns
Previous experience within a marina, security, facilities or a similar environment would be advantageous, as would knowledge of boats and the local area, but full training will be provided.
A full UK driving licenceis required.
What's on offer?
Alongside a competitive salary, the role offers a strong benefits package including:
- Equivalent of 33 days' annual leave
- Private medical cover
- Free on-site parking
- Access to an Online GP service 7 days a week
- Training and development opportunities
- The opportunity to build a long-term career within the marina industry
If you're looking for a hands-on role where no two shifts are quite the same, and you'd enjoy being part of a friendly marina team, we'd be keen to hear from you.
