We’re supporting a growing business within the superyacht sector to appoint an Assistant Marine HR & Compliance Manager. This is a newly created role to support increasing volumes of complex crew employment and regulatory matters. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and internal teams, acting as a trusted advisor on marine HR processes, employment issues and compliance requirements. It’s a hands-on, varied position suited to someone confident managing real-world people matters, from disciplinaries and grievances through to contracts, policies and MLC compliance, rather than purely administrative HR.
Responsibilities
- Advise internal teams and stakeholders (yacht owners, managers, captains, crew) on marine HR processes, employment agreements, policies, and compliance
- Manage employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, sickness, performance, and related hearings
- Interpret and apply MLC 2006 and relevant flag state regulations, maintaining accurate compliance records
- Contribute to HR policy development and support reporting to senior leadership
- Line manage the Crew Compliance Administrator and provide occasional support to payroll/HR administration
- Represent the business professionally during client meetings, visits, and industry events
