We are recruiting for a skilled Painter to join a specialist composites team working on high-end carbon fibre lifting equipment used within the superyacht sector. This is a hands-on role focused primarily on large composite components rather than full vessel painting, offering a varied and technically engaging workload. This is a full-time permanent position based in Lymington.

The role involves a full end-to-end painting process, requiring strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.

Key responsibilities:
  • Surface preparation including heavy grinding, sanding and fairing
  • Application of primers and marine paint systems
  • Building multiple paint layers to a high-quality finish
  • Final finishing including machine polishing and detailing
  • Supporting basic fit-out work on completed components
  • Occasionally assisting in the wider shipyard with boat repairs and full resprays when required

This is a rare opportunity for a painter who enjoys variety and takes pride in high-quality finishes. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and confident working across different stages of the paint process.

We’re looking for someone who:
  • Has experience with marine, automotive, or industrial paint systems
  • Is confident with prep work as well as final finishing and polishing
  • Ideally has exposure to composites or carbon fibre (not essential)
  • Can work independently and “hit the ground running” in a busy environment
  • Is flexible and willing to support wider yard activities when needed
  • Has a strong eye for detail and commitment to quality

Why This Role?

  • Work on premium, high-spec carbon fibre products within the superyacht industry
  • Varied workload beyond traditional boat painting
  • Stable, busy department with consistent year-round work
  • Opportunity to broaden your skill set across composites, paint, and light fit-out
