Marine Resources are looking for a Marine Engineer to expand our clients growing team. This is an opportunity to be part of that growth and benefit from working with a multi franchise engineering firm based on the IOW. My client are a marine engineering business specialising in leisure boating. They cover everything from installation, servicing and repairs of engines to electrical and plumbing works. They work on inboards and outboards, diesel and petrol technology, and everything ranging from small RIBs and auxiliary engines to large sailing and motor yachts. The right candidate will be confident and experienced in a similar range of works.

As dealers for leading brands including Volvo Penta, Honda Marine, Mercury and Mercruiser, we have the benefit of expertise and training opportunities. A candidate with recent manufacturer training, particularly Volvo Penta, is viewed favourably but not essential. The right candidate should also be motivated and practical with the ability to remain flexible and work with customers' individual requirements.

Tasks and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to) the following:

  • Installation of a range of mechanical and domestic equipment into new and used boats
  • Carrying out routine servicing to manufacturer specifications, or as otherwise instructed by customers
  • Diagnostics and troubleshooting
  • Attending to call-outs and providing both short-term and long-term solutions for customers
  • Attending boats both locally and further across the island
