This role is ideal for a talented Interior Designer currently working within high-end residential or luxury interiors who is looking to transition into the exciting world of superyacht design.

If you have a passion for bespoke craftsmanship, exceptional materials, and creating extraordinary luxury spaces, I would be keen to hear from you.

My client is a renowned design studio operating within the luxury superyacht sector, creating bespoke interior environments for some of the world's most prestigious yachts.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a creative and ambitious Junior Interior Designer to join their talented design team in London.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a designer looking to break into the highly sought-after superyacht industry.

Whilst previous yacht design experience would be advantageous, my client is equally interested in candidates from a high-end residential, luxury hospitality, or bespoke interior design background who can demonstrate outstanding design flair, strong technical capability, and a passion for creating exceptional luxury spaces.

Working alongside senior designers and project teams, you will contribute to the design and delivery of bespoke yacht interiors, helping to transform initial concepts into world-class finished environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of innovative interior design concepts for bespoke superyacht projects.
  • Produce mood boards, material palettes, FF&E specifications, and design presentations to communicate design intent.
  • Support the design of custom furniture, cabinetry, decorative features, lighting schemes, and interior detailing.
  • Prepare space planning layouts, floor plans, elevations, and technical drawing packages.
  • Create high-quality visual presentations and design documentation for client and internal project reviews.
  • Research and specify luxury materials, finishes, fabrics, furnishings, accessories, and artwork.
  • Work closely with senior designers, naval architects, CGI artists, suppliers, and project stakeholders throughout the design process.
  • Assist with maintaining project schedules, material libraries, sample collections, and design records.
  • Conduct supplier research and liaise with manufacturers to source bespoke products and finishes.
  • Support site visits, showroom appointments, and project installations where required.
  • Ensure all design solutions balance aesthetics, functionality, practicality, and the highest standards of luxury.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Spatial Design, or a related discipline.
  • Approximately 1-4 years of professional interior design experience.
  • Experience within high-end residential, luxury hospitality, superyacht, or ultra-prime interior design projects would be highly desirable.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, space planning ability, material selection, and luxury design detailing.
  • Proficiency in Auto CAD, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, In Design, Illustrator), and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience producing mood boards, concept presentations, FF&E schedules, and material specifications.
  • Good understanding of luxury furniture, bespoke joinery, premium materials, fabrics, and finishes.
  • Strong visual presentation and communication skills. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple project tasks simultaneously.
  • A proactive and detail-focused approach with a genuine passion for luxury design.
  • Full right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • Previous exposure to superyacht, marine, aviation, luxury hospitality, or ultra-high-end residential projects.
  • Experience working with bespoke furniture manufacturers and specialist suppliers.
  • Familiarity with CGI briefing and visualisation processes.
  • Knowledge of custom joinery detailing and luxury interior construction methods.

What's on Offer?

  • Salary of £40,000 - £50,000 depending on experience.
  • Opportunity to enter and develop within the prestigious superyacht design industry.
  • Exposure to truly bespoke, world-class luxury interior projects.
  • Mentorship and support from highly experienced yacht and luxury interior designers.
  • Collaborative and creative studio environment in South West London.
