Are you a recent Naval Architecture graduate or an early-career Naval Architect looking to launch your career within a growing and innovative marine engineering consultancy?
My client is seeking a Graduate / Junior Naval Architect to join their expanding team, working across a diverse range of vessel design and engineering projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands‑on experience across concept design, stability analysis, structural engineering, production design, and emerging technologies within the marine sector.
Working alongside experienced Naval Architects and Engineers, you will receive training and mentorship while contributing to projects from concept through to production.
The Role
As a Graduate / Junior Naval Architect, you will support the delivery of innovative marine engineering projects, developing your technical skills across vessel design, analysis, and production engineering.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with project scope definition and technical specifications
- Supporting vessel concept design for both interior and exterior layouts
- Producing production and construction drawings
- Assisting with inclining experiments and stability booklet preparation
- Conducting vessel performance assessments for power and sailing craft
- Supporting structural design activities for composite, steel, and aluminium vessels
- Assisting with marine systems design and engineering
- Developing interior arrangement and layout designs
- Providing production support for CNC manufacturing operations
- Learning and developing capabilities in CFD analysis and 3D laser scanning surveys
- Interpreting and applying classification society and flag state regulations
What We Are Looking For
- Degree qualified in Naval Architecture or a related discipline
- Recent graduate or up to 3 years of industry experience
- Strong interest in marine design, engineering, and vessel development
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills
- Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop new technical skills
- Passion for the marine and maritime sector
Software Experience
- AutoCAD
- Rhino
- Autodesk Inventor
- Fusion 360
- Autodesk ReCap
- Autodesk PDM tools
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Maxsurf (desirable but not essential)
