Marine Resources are currently recruiting for a Contract Marine Engineer to support a busy vessel fit out programme on the Isle of Wight. This is a hands-on engineering position working as part of a skilled build team carrying out the installation, alignment and commissioning of propulsion and onboard systems on vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation and fit out of marine propulsion systems
- Installation and commissioning of dual systems
- Engine installation and alignment
- Shaft installation and alignment
- Propeller installation and set up
- Mechanical fit out of vessel systems and associated equipment
- Supporting commissioning and sea trial activities where required
- Working from engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship and quality throughout the build process
Suitable Experience
- Previous experience as a Marine Engineer, Mechanical Fitter or Fit Out Engineer within boat building or marine refit environments
- Strong understanding of propulsion systems and drivetrain installation
- Experience installing and aligning engines, shafts and propellers
- Ability to work from engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience with commercial vessels, workboats or leisure craft would be advantageous
- Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team
