Lead Electrical Design Engineer
Location: London or Southampton (Hybrid)
Full time - Permanent
Salary: c£75,000 - £80,000 + Benefits
Our client is a growing engineering business developing advanced technologies for the maritime sector. Due to continued expansion, they are seeking a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to take ownership of electrical and control system design across a range of innovative projects.

The Role
- Lead the design and development of electrical and control systems.
- Produce electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, calculations and technical documentation.
- Specify and integrate PLCs, HMIs, drives, instrumentation and power distribution equipment.
- Ensure designs meet relevant industry and regulatory standards.
- Support testing, commissioning and system integration activities.
- Work closely with customers, suppliers and internal engineering teams.
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proven experience in electrical design within marine, offshore, industrial or similar engineering environments.
- Strong knowledge of power distribution, automation and control systems.
- Experience with PLCs and industrial control hardware.
- Familiarity with electrical design software such as AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
