Composite Boat Builder (Structural)
Location: Lee-on-the-Solent, Hampshire
Job Type: Contract
We are looking for an experienced Composite Boat Builder to join a busy marine manufacturing team in Lee-on-the-Solent.
This is a hands-on role focused on the structural construction and assembly of boats, working with composite materials. The ideal candidate will have experience in production boatbuilding, structural bonding and composite assembly.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out structural construction and assembly of boats.
- Install and bond bulkheads, stringers, frames and other structural components.
- Work with GRP, carbon fibre and other composite materials.
- Undertake structural bonding and laminating where required.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and build specifications.
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard of quality and accuracy.
- Work closely with laminators and the wider production team to meet build deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience in composite boatbuilding or marine manufacturing.
- Experience in structural assembly and bonding.
- Good understanding of composite materials, including GRP and carbon fibre.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
