Marine Plant Hire (UK) Ltd is seeking an experienced and motivated Sole Engineer / Deckhand to join our growing fleet onboard our Damen 2611 Multicat.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a professional and well established marine operations team supporting a wide range of marine civil engineering, towage, dredging, construction and offshore support projects throughout the UK and Europe.
The Role
As Sole Engineer / Deckhand, you will play a key role in the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the vessel.
Working as part of a small, highly capable crew, you will be responsible for maintaining the vessel's machinery and systems while also assisting with deck operations as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Day to day operation, maintenance and repair of vessel machinery and equipment.
- Planned maintenance and defect reporting.
- Fault finding and troubleshooting of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Assisting with towing, anchor handling and marine construction activities.
- Supporting loading, mobilisation and demobilisation operations.
- Maintaining high standards of safety, housekeeping and environmental compliance.
- Assisting the Master with vessel operations and deck duties as required.
- Ensuring compliance with MCA regulations, company procedures and client requirements.
- AEC 1 & 2 or MEOL (preferrable)
- Previous experience as an engineer on workboats, multicats, tugs or similar commercial vessels.
- Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding ability.
- STCW Basic Safety Training.
- ENG1 Medical Certificate.
- Full UK right to work.
- Flexible approach and willingness to work throughout the UK and Europe.
