We are seeking an outstanding General Manager to lead the next chapter of the hotel's success story. This is a career-defining opportunity for an accomplished hospitality leader to take responsibility for one of the UK's most celebrated luxury hotels, driving commercial performance, operational excellence, and an exceptional guest experience.

The Opportunity

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across all areas of the business, ensuring the hotel continues to exceed guest expectations while delivering strong financial performance.
  • Lead a talented team, developing future leaders, and maintaining Rusacks' reputation as one of Scotland's premier luxury hospitality destinations.
  • Act as an ambassador for the hotel, building strong relationships with guests, owners, local stakeholders, tourism partners, golf industry contacts, and the wider St Andrews community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of hotel operations, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction and service excellence.
  • Deliver strong commercial performance, driving revenue growth, profitability, and market share across all business segments.
  • Develop, inspire, and retain high-performing teams while fostering a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Champion Marine & Lawn's REACH values: Respect, Excellence, Accountability, Cooperation, Honesty.
  • Work closely with Revenue, Sales & Marketing teams to maximise business opportunities and enhance market positioning.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, labour management, and cost controls to ensure financial targets are achieved.
  • Drive guest satisfaction initiatives and maintain industry-leading reputation scores.
  • Lead talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement strategies.
  • Build strong partnerships within the local business, tourism, and golf communities.
  • Ensure full compliance with all legal, licensing, health & safety, and company requirements.

About You

You are a proven luxury hospitality leader with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences and developing exceptional teams. You will ideally bring:

  • Previous General Manager experience within a luxury hotel, resort, or destination-led property.
  • A strong track record of delivering commercial and financial success.
  • Experience leading large, multi-department operational teams.
  • Outstanding leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong Food & Beverage operational expertise.
  • Experience within golf, resort, lifestyle, or luxury hospitality environments.
  • A passion for people development and creating positive workplace cultures.
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership.
  • Experience within branded and/or independent luxury hotel environments.
