Remote working based in the UK. We are a leading UK environmental charity dedicated to protecting our ocean - defending crucial habitats, regenerating vital ecosystems and inspiring volunteers. We unite communities, governments, and industry, and champion science-based solutions for cleaner, healthier seas to tackle the climate and nature emergency.

We are currently looking for a Policy & Advocacy Manager to join us on a full-time basis, working 35 hours per week, for a fixed-term contract of up to 12 months, to cover a period of maternity leave.

  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
  • 8% employer pension contributions (no match required)
  • Sick pay at full pay for 8 weeks, then 8 weeks at half pay (after probation)

As our Policy & Advocacy Manager, youll develop and deliver policy and advocacy work focused on reducing marine pollution, particularly PFAS, at regional, national, UK and international levels. Influencing government, industry and regulatory stakeholders, youll contribute to consultations and technical reports, and act as a key point of contact on pollution issues. Youll also provide expert support to colleagues across policy, public affairs, communications and fundraising, helping turn complex information into clear and compelling messages.

To be considered as our Policy & Advocacy Manager, you will need:

  • Specialism and in-depth knowledge of sources, environmental impacts and policy solutions to address PFAS forever chemicals
  • Working knowledge of data protection and handling confidential information
  • Strong data handling and analysis skills
