You will take ownership of driving revenue across key segments, building a strong pipeline of business, and maximising conversion from every opportunity. You will play a central role in strengthening the hotel’s market position and establishing it as a leading choice for leisure stays, corporate business, and events.
How you’ll make an impact
You will operate across both proactive and reactive sales, ensuring a consistent flow of new business while converting enquiries into confirmed revenue. You will:
- Proactively generate new business across corporate, group, MICE, and leisure segments
- Manage and convert all incoming enquiries efficiently and professionally
- Build strong relationships with local and national clients to drive repeat business
- Work closely with the General Manager to deliver commercial objectives
- Ensure a seamless and professional client journey from enquiry through to delivery
What you’ll be doing
Proactive Sales
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities across all key segments
- Conduct regular sales activity including client meetings, calls, and networking
- Build and maintain a strong local market presence
- Represent the hotel at industry events, exhibitions, and trade shows
- Organise and host client visits, FAM trips, and hotel showrounds
Reactive Sales & Events
- Manage all group, meeting, and event enquiries from initial enquiry to conversion
- Prepare and issue proposals, contracts, and quotations accurately and in a timely manner
- Follow up all enquiries within agreed timeframes, including structured chase activity
- Coordinate with operational teams to ensure smooth delivery of events
- Work closely with Food & Beverage teams to develop and sell event packages
Commercial & Operational Focus
- Accurately record all enquiries, activity, and business within hotel systems
- Monitor competitor activity, market trends, and pricing strategies
- Provide regular sales reports and updates on performance and pipeline
- Maintain strong communication across departments to support delivery
- Support key revenue periods including weddings, seasonal events, and celebrations
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in hotel sales and/or meetings & events
- Strong commercial awareness with a proactive, target-driven approach
- Proven ability to convert enquiries into confirmed business
- Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Confident communicator with a professional and personable approach
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Good IT skills (knowledge of Opera or similar systems is advantageous)
- Knowledge of the local market is beneficial
