We are looking for an inspiring and commercially driven Retail & Community Hub Managerto lead our unique Donation Centre and Community Hub.

This is more than a Retail Manager role — it’s an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the local community while driving the success of a busy, multi-purpose store.

Our Donation Centre operates as a retail store, offering a wide range of donated goods alongside a selection of bought-in products.

In partnership the Community Hub creates a safe and welcoming environment where members of the community can access information about a range of support services provided by the Retail Manager as a Trained Brand Ambassador.

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with the local community groups and businesses, generating links.
  • Deliver monthly large-scale events across the hub and store, taking ownership and responsibility for organising the events and working with other members of the Community Hub team to maximise opportunities and generate additional income.
  • Support all activity through consistent social media promotion, liaising with the Retail Communications Lead and Social Media Team as required.
  • Maximise sales by maintaining high standards of display and layout in the storeand realistic prices are obtained on donated items.
  • Support the District Manager in the recruitment of staff and Volunteers.
  • Ensure all financial reporting and management, cash handling, daily banking and security procedures are followed.
  • Support the stores e Bay and digital marketplace operations.

  • Brand Knowledge-Understand the Marie Curie services we offer and direct those seeking our support to the most appropriate point of contact
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service and build strong relationships with local residents, community
  • Experienced in motivating and influencing others
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple activities
  • Comprehensive retail management experience preferably in fashion/clothing, including merchandising and display

  • In this role you will have sole responsibility for the running of the store, which will involve lone working.

Due to this, we are unable to recruit anyone for this role who is under the age of 18.
