Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leading research pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end-of-life care.

We’re looking for a Registered Nurse to join our team in the Southern Trust, Hospice Care At Home. As a Registered Nurse, you’ll be a key member of the multidisciplinary team, providing holistic, person-centred end-of-life care. Your responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating high-quality nursing care for people living with a terminal illness and those important to them. You’ll work collaboratively with other providers and across the system to improve the experience of dying, death, and bereavement.

The role involves both clinical leadership and direct patient care, ensuring dignity, respect, and compassion are at the heart of everything you do. You’ll be accountable to the Hospice Ward Manager, Community Clinical Nurse Manager, or Registered Manager (depending on location/service), and professionally accountable to the Head of Quality and Clinical Practice, Head of Operations and Quality, or Head of Nursing and Quality.

What we’re looking for:

  • Compassionate, person-centred approach to care, respecting each individual’s needs, choices, and dignity.
  • Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for people with terminal illnesses, including supporting their families and carers.
  • Strong communication skills, able to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with diverse individuals, including those from minority and hard-to-reach groups.
  • Commitment to quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and ongoing professional development.
  • Experience working independently in a healthcare environment, ideally with recent exposure to end-of-life care.
  • Registered Nurse on the NMC register (Adult), with a flexible approach to working patterns and willingness to travel as required.
