We are recruiting for Healthcare Assistants tojoin our STARS (Supportive and End of Life Care Service) in Liverpool,North-West.
Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Assistant with our pioneering STARS service, you willsupport patients in their own homes and communities across the whole ofLiverpool. This is an opportunity to join a successful, forward-thinkingservice that is helping shape the future of palliative and end-of-life care,both in the North-West and nationally.
Everyshift brings the opportunity to make a difference across Liverpool. You willvisit up to 10 patients, deliver compassionate care in the community and workindependently with the support of an experienced multidisciplinary team.

The care and support we provide ishighly valued by the people we care for and their loved ones, but at present weare only reaching around 10% of dying people at the end of life.Right now, one in four people in the UK with a terminal illness, do notget the care or support they deserve at the end of their lives.

Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week
Shifts: 08:00am - 20:00pm or 09:00am - 21:00pm (subject to change
Contract: Permanent
Base: Liverpool Hospice and the community
Salary: £25,272 per annum, plus enhancements, and a whole range of Marie Curie benefits.
What were looking for:
- National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Health and Social Care OR an equivalent alternative Level 2 Qualification.
- Minimum of 6 months care delivery experience in a Health or Social Care Environment.
- Previous experience or knowledge of Palliative Care
- Knowledge and understanding of how to deliver person centred care and the components of open and sensitive communication
- Proficient IT skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Valid UK driving licence with access to a vehicle with business insurance
- Flexibility to work across different projects and services across the North-West, if required
