We’re looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team in the South Eastern Trust. As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team delivering holistic, person-centred end of life care. Working under the guidance of registered professionals, you’ll support patients and those important to them with personal care, symptom management, and emotional support. You’ll contribute to care planning, assist with daily living activities, and help maintain a safe and dignified environment. This is a compassionate and hands-on role where you’ll make a meaningful difference in people’s lives during their final stages, while also supporting their loved ones through grief and bereavement.
Salary: £25,272 per annum + enhancements (pro rata)
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time – 16-24 hours per week - Nights between 11pm & 7am
Based: Community Based – South Eastern Trust

What we’re looking for:
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent Level 2 qualification (e.g. NCFE, BTEC), plus functional skills in numeracy and literacy at Level 2
- At least 6 months of recent care delivery experience in a health or social care setting
- Strong communication skills with the ability to hold person-centred, empathetic conversations and work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Knowledge of palliative and end of life care, including holistic care planning and symptom management
- Ability to plan and prioritise care, respond to changes in patient condition, and elevate appropriately
- A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle
