We provide free specialist care and support to patients with terminal illnesses whilst offering vital emotional support for their families. The support we offer is tailored to meet individuals' medical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.
We are recruiting for a Healthcare Assistant to join the In-patients Unit at our Hospice in Solihull, West Midlands. At Marie Curie, we provide free specialist palliative care and support to patients with life-limiting illnesses, while also offering crucial emotional support for their families.
As a Healthcare Assistant at our In-patients Unit, you will play a vital role in supporting patients and their loved ones during their most challenging times.
- Contract Type: Flexibank
- Salary: £12.51 per hour, Plus enhancements
- Hours: Days – 7:00am - 7:30pm, Nights 7:00pm - 7:30am
In this role, your experience in End-of-Life care will enable you to make a significant impact. You will work closely with the nursing team, following each patient’s care plan and performing essential tasks such as hygiene assistance, symptom monitoring, medication support, record-keeping, and providing emotional support.
What we are looking for:
- Recent experience of providing care and caring for people with life limiting illness or palliative care needs in a health/social care setting.
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred, not required).
- Be person-centred and compassionate when caring for the person and those important to them.
- Ability to develop and evaluate care management plans that meet the complex needs of the person, and those important to them.
- Emotional resilience and the capacity to work with a team.
