Job Description

Join Marie Curie’s Urgent Hospice Care at Home team overnight service and make a real difference when patients and families need it most. Working overnight across Edinburgh and the Lothians.

What you will be doing:

You will provide responsive, compassionate care to people living with terminal illness in their own homes. You will triage urgent calls from patients, families and healthcare professionals, offering expert advice, emotional support and clinical guidance. Where required, you will visit patients at home to assess their needs, manage symptoms and deliver high-quality end of life care. Working alongside a dedicated Healthcare Assistant, you will support patients and those closest to them, helping them remain comfortable, safe and cared for in the place they call home.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a Registered Nurse who thrives in an autonomous role, has excellent assessment skills and is passionate about delivering outstanding palliative and end of life care across communities throughout the Lothians.

What we’re looking for:

• Demonstrated understanding and experience in palliative and end of life care.
• A Registered Nurse with current level 1 NMC registration
• A holistic and person-centred approach to nursing practice
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively and effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
• A genuine passion for delivering high-quality care to those at the end of life.
