Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement.

We’re looking for an As and When Chef to join our team in Cardiff and the Vale Hospice. This role is central to delivering high-quality, nutritious meals for patients, staff, volunteers, and visitors, while ensuring food safety, hygiene, and a caring service environment.

Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 3 (aligned with AFC) £12.94 - £13.80 per hour, plus enhancements

Based: Cardiff and the Vale Hospice

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent cooking skills and the ability to plan and prepare varied menus.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with a caring and flexible approach.
  • Experience in catering and supervising staff, ideally within a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety standards.
  • Relevant qualifications such as City & Guilds 706/1 & 706/2 or NVQ Level 2 in Food Production and Cooking is a requirement.
  • Available for evening shifts and comfortable to work alone in a healthcare environment.
