Senior Nurse – Cardiff and the Vale, Marie Curie UK. Permanent, Part-Time – 30 hours per week. Based in the Community – Cardiff and the Vale. Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 6 (aligned with AFC) £39,263 – £47,820 pro rata per annum + enhancements.

Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior Nurse to join our team in Cardiff and the Vale Community. This role involves managing a team of Healthcare Assistants, supporting the Clinical Nurse Manager in delivering high-quality palliative care. The Senior Nurse oversees clinical services, coordinates care, and leads staff development to ensure patient-focused care aligned with Marie Curie’s values.

What we’re looking for

  • Proven experience in palliative care across hospice, hospital, or community settings
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, including recruitment, rostering, and performance reviews
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a compassionate and proactive approach
  • Registered Nurse with a relevant nursing degree and mentorship/teaching qualification
  • Ability to manage clinical audits, quality improvement, and service development initiatives
  • A valid driving licence and willingness to travel across the service area
