Base pay range
Marie Curie Pay Scale Band 6 (aligned with AFC) Β£38,682 β Β£46,580 per annum Plus, Enhancements
Marie Curie is the UKβs leading end-of-life charity. We are the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care in the UK, the only provider across all 4 nations, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement. Our leadership in research and campaigns aims to improve end-of-life care and support for people affected by dying, death and bereavement.
We want to close the gap in access to end-of-life care through direct care, practical information, and leadership in shaping the end-of-life experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide hands-on care and act as a professional role model.
- Develop and implement best practice initiatives.
- Coordinate patient activity and ensure high standards of care.
- Manage staffing levels, budgets, and resources.
- Lead and support the team, including recruitment, training, and performance management.
- Ensure effective communication with patients, families, and the wider community.
- Participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement activities.
Job Structure
Permanent; Full Time 37.5 Hours/Week; Day
Shifts
9:00am β 5:00pm Monday to Friday and occasional night shifts.
Location and travel
Based: Hybrid β Primarily home based. There will be occasional requirements to work night shifts at Clayponds Hospital, as necessary and mutually agreed upon.
What we are looking for
- Registered Nurse on NMC Register with a relevant qualification and experience.
- Experience in caring for patients with palliative care needs.
- Strong time management skills and committed to providing high-quality care.
- Experience in observation and assessment of clinical practice, to determine standards of care.
- An understanding of specific needs of patients approaching end of life and in the terminal phase.
- Excellent communication and team-working skills.
- IT literate and able to travel as required.
