Overview

Join Marie Curie as a Retail Manager in a dynamic charitable retail environment. You will support a team to encourage sales, provide excellent customer service, and uphold high standards of stock and store presentation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead store operations bringing energy and vision to create a memorable shopping experience.
  • Utilize your eye for design and style to curate donated products through visual merchandising with enhanced feature displays and strong commercial windows to drive sales and footfall.
  • Keep up to date with the latest fashion trends and local market demands, identifying opportunities for growth.
  • Manage staff and volunteers, recruiting, training, and supporting them to ensure effective store operation.
  • Engage customers by coaching volunteers and staff to discuss purchases, encourage donations, and sign customers up for the loyalty scheme.
  • Ensure sales targets are met and direct costs stay within budgeted limits.
  • Follow financial reporting, cash handling, daily banking, and security procedures.
  • Process donated goods according to set standards and timeframes, with pricing in line with charity guidelines.

Key Criteria / Qualifications

  • Solid retail experience, preferably in fashion/clothing.
  • Experience in managing a team; managing volunteers is an advantage.
  • Understanding of retailing and merchandising display.
  • Experience with cash handling and financial management procedures (including sales records).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a customer-first attitude and tactful discretion.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Understanding of health and safety procedures in a retail environment.
