Marie Curie is currently looking for Collection Box Coordinators to help coordinate a network of collection tins and daffodil boxes in the local community of Lampeter. Collection tins are based in a variety of venues such as pubs and shops throughout the year and then replaced with daffodil boxes for our Great Daffodil Appeal between February-April.
Collection Box Coordinators will complete the following tasks:
- Placing and emptying collection tins in pubs, shops and other popular locations that have space near a till point for donations.
- Source new venues that would be happy to place one of our tins on site, including looking out for new venues opening in the community.
- Ensuring new sites complete a site permission form to show agreement of taking a tin/box and sharing these with the fundraising team.
- Coordinating the placement of daffodil boxes in the spring. Some sites will not like a tin all year round but would be happy to have a box for the 3-month period.
- Updating your community fundraiser regularly of which sites have been harvested.
- Count and bank the income raised, completing required paperwork and thanking the sites for their support.
Full training will be provided, and you will be given the tools to help you in your role, for example collection tins and an ID card.
For this role you should be:
- Organised
- Have great communication skills
- Approachable
- Comfortable to approach venues
This is a flexible role where you can complete your rounds at a time and day that is suitable for you, depending on site opening times. The time needed to complete the role will depend on the number of tins you have in your community and how often they get full but would usually be around 2-3 hours a month.
