Healthcare Assistant – Community Based – Hampshire

We deliver community nursing and hospice care, provide information and support on all aspects of dying, death and bereavement, and run research that pushes the boundaries of what we know about good end‑of‑life care.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and assist with patients’ skin integrity and personal hygiene.
- Observe and support nutritional needs.
- Attend to comfort requirements to facilitate rest and sleep.
- Provide mobility support and maintain a clean, orderly care environment.
- Practice empathetic communication with patients and their families in a supportive, professional manner.
- Offer high‑quality personal care and support to enhance wellbeing.
Contract & Schedule
Permanent positions available, full‑time or reduced hours. Day shifts: Monday to Sunday, including bank holidays. Shift hours: 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale, Band 2 (aligned with AFC) ÂŁ24,465 per annum, plus enhancements.
Location: Community based – Hampshire.
What We’re Looking For
- At least six months of recent experience providing care in a health or social care environment, including end‑of‑life care.
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred, not required).
- Person‑centred and compassionate when caring for the person and those important to them.
- Ability to develop and evaluate care management plans that meet complex needs.
- Emotional resilience and capacity to work independently.
- A valid driving licence and access to a car for travel to patients’ homes.
