Job Description:
Marie Curie is excited to be expanding our existing Hospice Care at Home Service in Cwm Taf Morgannwg to help ensure nobody goes without the vital care and support they need at end of life. We are looking for a number of additional Healthcare Assistants to join our amazing team to help support more patients with life limiting conditions, and their families, than ever before. We will be working closely with District Nursing and Primary Care Teams to provide symptom control, end of life care and respite; as well as developing a new urgent response capacity to support the discharge of palliative and end of life care patients from hospitals into the community. Salary:Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 (aligned with AFC) £24,638 per annum + Enhancements

What we are looking for:
- Relevant community or palliative care experience
- S/NVQ Level 2/3 qualification or an equivalent certificate/diploma or willing to work towards this
- Willing to register with Social Care Wales
- Emotional strength and the ability to work on your own are crucial, though we will of course provide excellent on-going training and support
- Licence allowing you to drive in the UK and access to a vehicle that can be insured for business use are essential
With experience of End-of-Life care, you\’re ready and able to make a real difference. Working without close supervision, you\’ll have the opportunity to use your own initiative in line with the patient\’s established care plan. You\’ll be required to carry out a range of care duties including helping patients meet their hygiene needs, monitoring symptoms, assisting with medications and keeping detailed records and emotional support to the patient and their families.
