Job Description
Join our expanding Marie Curie night service in Cornwall and be part of a team that’s making a real difference. These roles are ideal for compassionate individuals who thrive working independently through the night, delivering high‑quality care and support to patients and their loved ones during life’s most challenging moments.
Hours: 22:00 – 07:00 (night shift)
Contract: Part‑time Permanent (18, 27 or 36‑hour contracts available)
Salary: Band 2 ÂŁ24,465 per annum, in line with NHS Agenda for Change (AFC) plus enhancements and Marie Curie employee benefits package
Locations: Central, North and East Cornwall (within a 25‑mile radius of your home address)
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for planning your own work, responding to changes in patient conditions, prioritising care needs (including hygiene, nutrition and hydration, comfort, monitoring vitals, and more) as detailed in the personalised care plan, and ensuring you escalated appropriately to senior staff within the multidisciplinary team in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent
- Minimum of 6 months of current care delivery experience in a Health or Social Care environment
- Hold a current and valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle, including business insurance
- Knowledge of palliative and end‑of‑life care
- Ability to hold person‑centred conversations and communicate sensitively and professionally with patients and their loved ones
- Participation in assessment, care planning, review and evaluation of holistic care management plans within the multidisciplinary team
- Undertake risk assessments to support safe delivery of care
