Job Description

We’re looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team in the Cardiff Community providing compassionate, high‑quality end‑of‑life care. As a Healthcare Assistant, you’ll be a vital part of a multidisciplinary team delivering holistic, person‑centred care, supporting patients and their loved ones with personal care, symptom management, and emotional support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily living activities and personal care.
  • Support patients with symptom management and emotional support.
  • Contribute to care planning and maintain a safe, dignified environment.
  • Engage in person‑centred, empathetic conversations and collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent Level 2 qualification (e.g. NCFE, BTEC).
  • Functional skills in numeracy and literacy at Level 2.
  • At least 6 months of recent care delivery experience in a health or social care setting.
  • Strong communication skills, able to hold person‑centred, empathetic conversations.
  • Knowledge of palliative and end‑of‑life care, including holistic care planning and symptom management.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise care, respond to changes in patient condition and escalating appropriately.
  • A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.

Salary and Benefits

  • Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 (aligned with AFC) ÂŁ24,833 pro rata per annum + enhancements.
