Company Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end‑of‑life charity. We are the largest non‑NHS provider of end‑of‑life care in the UK, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country, while providing information and support on all aspects of dying, death, and bereavement.

We are currently recruiting a Healthcare Assistant to join our Hospice Care at Home Overnight Service in Calderdale covering Halifax, Holmfirth, Huddersfield, Mirfield and surrounding areas. You will support patients and families in their time of greatest need, providing free specialist palliative care and emotional support while working one‑to‑one in patients’ homes.

Hours: Part Time – 36 hours, 9 hour night shifts (10 pm – 7 am) available.

Salary: AFC BAND 2 £24,465 per annum + enhancements (pro rata).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide care duties including supporting patients with hygiene, monitoring symptoms, assisting with medications and keeping detailed records.
  • Use your own initiative and follow the established care plan while working without close supervision.
  • Offer emotional support to patients and their families.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant community experience.
  • NVQ Level 2/3 or an equivalent certificate/diploma.
  • Recent experience providing care to people with life‑limiting illness or palliative care needs.
  • Emotionally resilient and able to work independently.
  • UK‑licensed driver with access to a car and business insurance.
