Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity and the largest non-NHS provider of end-of-life care, delivering community nursing and hospice care across the country. We offer free specialist care and support to patients with terminal illnesses and vital emotional support for their families, tailoring care to meet medical, social, spiritual, and emotional needs. Our mission is to close the gap in access to end-of-life support and promote a world where everyone receives the best possible quality of life.

This role involves providing holistic, person-centred end-of-life care and support to individuals and their families, ensuring compassionate assistance during essential periods. Duties include:

  • Monitoring skin integrity and personal hygiene
  • Supporting nutritional needs
  • Ensuring adequate rest and sleep
  • Assisting with mobility
  • Maintaining a clean and organized care environment
  • Contributing to symptom management

You will communicate empathetically with patients and their families, providing high-quality personal care to enhance overall well-being.

Contract: Permanent; available full-time or reduced hours, multiple openings

Work Schedule: Night shifts, Monday to Sunday including bank holidays

Shift hours: 10:00 pm – 6:30 am

Salary: Β£24,465 per annum (prorated) plus night-time enhancements

Based: Community-based in Buckinghamshire

What We Are Looking For:

  • Recent experience providing care in a health or social care environment, including end-of-life care
  • NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent (preferred)
  • Person-centred and compassionate approach to care
  • Ability to develop and evaluate care management plans for complex needs
  • Emotional resilience and capacity to work independently
  • Valid driving licence, access to a car, and willingness to drive up to 25 miles
