We are looking for a compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our Hospice Care at Home Overnight Service, supporting patients across Wakefield and the surrounding areas.

As a Healthcare Assistant with the Marie Curie Hospice Care at Home Overnight Service across Wakefield and nearby areas, you will provide compassionate, one to one palliative care for patients with life-limiting illnesses in their own homes. Your role includes offering emotional support to families, assisting with personal care, monitoring symptoms, supporting with medication, and maintaining accurate records. Drawing on your experience in end of life care, you will work independently, using your initiative to deliver high quality care in line with each patient’s care plan.

Responsibilities
  • Provide compassionate, one-to-one palliative care for patients with life-limiting illnesses in their own homes.
  • Offer emotional support to families and carers.
  • Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
  • Monitor symptoms and support with medication as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with each patient’s care plan.
  • Work independently, using initiative to deliver high quality care in accordance with care plans.
