The Horticulture Crew Leader plays a critical role in the successful execution of landscape maintenance and horticultural services. This position is responsible for leading a small team to complete daily tasks with a focus on efficiency, quality, and safety. The Crew Leader ensures that job sites are managed effectively by coordinating labor, tracking materials, and maintaining adherence to project timelines. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact between crew members and supervisors, facilitating clear communication and problem-solving in real time. Ideal candidates will have hands-on horticulture experience, strong leadership skills, and a proactive approach to time and resource management. This is a hands-on, field-based position requiring physical work, attention to detail, and the ability to motivate and support team members in a fast-paced outdoor environment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and guide a small team in performing daily horticultural and landscaping duties, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency on every job site.
- Accurately record labor hours and materials used for each job, maintaining clear and organized documentation for project tracking and billing purposes.
- Utilize strong time management skills to follow and adjust daily schedules as needed to meet project deadlines and productivity goals.
- Maintain clear, consistent, and professional communication with Crew Supervisors to receive instructions, provide updates, and coordinate daily tasks.
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds company quality standards and adheres to industry best practices.
- Assist in the training and development of crew members, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
Knowledge / Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Valid Driver's License required.
Job Experience
- 2-3 yearsβ experience within the horticulture/landscape field.
- Educational experience in the horticulture/landscape field can be supplemented for industry experience.
Skills / Competencies

- Good time management and organizational skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Team player with positive attitude and proven ability to work hard in a fast-paced environment.
