We are looking for a reliable and skilled Regional Painter & Decorator to support the upkeep and refurbishment of our care homes across the region. This is a varied, hands-on role working in live care environments, delivering high-quality finishes while ensuring minimal disruption to residents and staff. You will play an important part in maintaining safe, welcoming, and well-presented homes for our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out painting and decorating works across multiple care homes
- Complete full room refurbishments, cyclical decoration, and touch-ups
- Prepare surfaces including walls, ceilings, woodwork, and communal areas
- Use appropriate materials and finishes suitable for care environments
- Work sensitively around residents, staff, and visitors in occupied buildings
- Follow infection control, health & safety, and safeguarding procedures
- Maintain tidy and safe working areas at all times
- Travel between sites and manage your own workload effectively
- Report any maintenance issues or potential hazards to management
About You
Weβre looking for someone who takes pride in their work and understands the importance of working respectfully in a care setting.
Essential
- Proven experience as a painter & decorator
- High standard of workmanship and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently across multiple sites
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel regionally
Desirable
- Experience in care homes, healthcare, or similar environments
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Painting & Decorating (or equivalent)
- Understanding of infection prevention and working in occupied buildings
