We are looking for an experienced and passionate Clinical Health & Social Care Trainer to join the Learning & Development team at Maria Mallaband Care Group. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing the knowledge, skills and confidence of colleagues across our national portfolio of care homes. Working closely with operational, quality and learning teams, you will help drive high standards of clinical practice, support service improvement initiatives and contribute to the delivery of outstanding resident care.
Reporting to the Senior Learning & Development Manager, you will be responsible for the design, delivery and evaluation of engaging learning programmes that support both clinical excellence and organisational objectives. This is a field-based role requiring regular travel across our care home portfolio, with occasional overnight stays where necessary. Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends is essential to ensure all colleagues have access to learning opportunities outside of standard business hours. Due to the portfolio of Care Homes this role will cover we are looking for someone based nearby the M4 corridor and surrounding areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and deliver high-quality clinical and care training programmes for colleagues across the organisation.
- Facilitate engaging face-to-face training sessions, workshops, webinars and practical skills development activities.
- Deliver training across a range of clinical subjects including medication management, wound care, venepuncture, catheter care, Basic Life Support (BLS), Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) and other specialist topics.
- Promote, encourage and champion safe, effective and person-centred care through coaching, mentoring and learning interventions.
- Work collaboratively with Quality, Operations and Home Management teams to identify learning needs and reduce clinical risk.
- Support homes requiring additional assistance through service improvement plans, targeted development programmes and clinical skills training.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programmes and use feedback and performance data to continuously improve learning outcomes.
- Facilitate reflective practice, supervision and peer-to-peer learning opportunities to support professional development.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practice, legislation and regulatory requirements relevant to health and social care.
About You
- Registered Nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or Registered Nursing Associate with a valid NMC PIN.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the Health & Social Care sector.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience delivering training, coaching or learning programmes.
- Strong understanding of care home operations and the responsibilities of Registered Managers.
- Experience conducting Training Needs Analysis and developing learning solutions.
- Excellent presentation, facilitation and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues at all levels.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively.
Desirable
- Teaching, training or assessor qualification.
- Experience supporting quality improvement initiatives.
- Experience developing learning resources and training materials.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements within the care home sector.
- Experience delivering Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) training and/or a recognised First Aid Trainer qualification.
