We operate in complex Front Office environments where technology, trading activity and production constraints intersect. Our consultants support and operate mission-critical trading systems used by Front Office, trading and risk teams, in contexts where responsiveness, reliability and technical understanding are essential.
You will work within Front Office IT Support and Trading Technology environments supporting live trading activity across multiple asset classes. Systems are production-critical, operate in real time and require a strong focus on stability, performance and incident management. The role involves close interaction with traders, sales, risk, development and infrastructure teams.
We are looking for a Front Office IT Support Engineer to support, operate and continuously improve trading and electronic trading systems. The role goes beyond reactive support. It involves active ownership of Front Office platforms, participation in change initiatives and hands-on investigation of production issues in real-time environments. This position suits profiles with a strong interest in trading systems, production environments and progressive technical exposure.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Front Office IT support for live trading environments
- Ensure trading systems are available, stable and performant during market hours
- Monitor real-time trading activity and system behaviour
- Investigate and resolve production incidents
- Participate in incident, problem and change management processes
- Manage real-time trading and market data configurations
- Tune market data and market access parameters
- Support electronic execution and matching workflows
- Contribute to performance optimisation of trading platforms
- Assist with deployment of new versions, releases and features
- Contribute to Front Office IT and trading technology projects
- Support testing, releases and change implementations
- Report, track and follow up on bugs and production issues
- Work closely with development and infrastructure teams to improve platform reliability
- Core Technologies & Tools: Front Office trading and electronic trading platforms, Linux / UNIX environments, Relational databases and SQL, Windows environments, Scripting or small development (Shell, Python, Perl, Visual Basic or similar)
- Valued Technical Exposure: SQL queries for production investigations, Linux command-line tools for troubleshooting, Log analysis and performance diagnostics, Release and deployment processes
- Essential: Experience in IT support or trading support environments, Working knowledge of Linux / UNIX systems, Basic to intermediate SQL skills, Strong interest in Front Office and trading systems, Ability to work in real-time, production-critical environments, Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, Excellent verbal and written communication, Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Valued (but not restrictive): Prior Front Office or trading support experience, Knowledge of financial markets and trading concepts, Exposure to scripting or development activities, Willingness to evolve towards more technical or development-oriented roles
Depending on interests and performance, the role may evolve towards team leadership or coordination roles, production or platform engineering positions, rapid application development or software development roles.
