Join a dynamic APS (Application Production Support) team in London. As a Cash Equities Execution APS, you will become part of a global team supporting and delivering a world-class global execution platform. This role is crucial in maintaining our competitive edge by providing high-quality support and rapid solutions to our trading desks and external clients. In this role, you will gain experience with financial markets, stock exchanges organizations, and algorithmic high frequency trading technology. You will work on innovative, low-latency technology alongside top specialists in the field, developing skills related to execution system and monitoring tools. Your day to day operations will be a mix of front office trading support and Site Reliability Engineer.

Responsibilities

  • Support of the Cash Equity Execution platform.
  • Sitting with the HT and LT sales traders and quants on the trading, ensuring smooth business operations.
  • Develop and implement monitoring, alerting, and incident response strategies.
  • Automate routine tasks and processes to reduce manual intervention and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with software engineering teams to design and deploy reliable, scalable, and efficient systems.
  • Deploy production changes with precision ensuring minimal disruption to services and maintaining the integrity of the platform.
  • Rotation based weekend work may be required.
  • Manage incidents including detailed analysis and reporting to maintain high service levels.
  • Working closely with the Front Office development and BA teams on a day-to-day basis.
  • Documentation of support processes, tools and tasks.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to provide support for critical systems and services.
  • Hands on Level 1/2/3 support.

Candidate profile

  • IT engineering background (BSc, MSc degree in a related field).
  • A few years of related work experience or Junior with sufficient technical skills and motivation.
  • Preferably knowledge of financial markets and electronic trading.

Essential skills

  • Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux systems and networking.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Go, Bash, or similar.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace, Prometheus, Grafana.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible.
  • Prior experience in a high-availability high-traffic environment.
