- French Speaking Front Office IT Support Engineer
- Join MARGO in the UK (London)
MARGO is a tech-native consultancy delivering high value-added IT expertise to the financial services industry.
We operate in complex Front Office environments where technology, trading activity and production constraints intersect.
Our consultants support and operate mission-critical trading systems used by Front Office, trading and risk teams, in contexts where responsiveness, reliability and technical understanding are essential.
Joining MARGO means working in demanding Front Office environments, while benefiting from a human-sized structure, close follow-up and tailored training paths.
About the Role
We are looking for a French-speaking Front Office IT Support Engineer to join our team in London, supporting live, production‑critical trading systems for a Tier‑1 Investment Bank.
The team operates in high‑pressure Front Office environments where responsiveness, common sense, and clear communication matter most.
While technical basics are necessary, we hire primarily for mindset.
The team can teach you the rest.
What the Team Can Teach You
You don't need to know everything on day one. If you have strong foundations, the team can teach you:
- Our specific Front Office trading systems, electronic execution workflows, and market data platforms.
- Advanced Linux/UNIX commands, internal scripting, and complex production investigation tools.
- The intricate technical setup of a Tier‑1 Investment Bank’s trading infrastructure.
- Deep‑dive financial domain knowledge, asset class mechanics, and trade lifecycle details.
- What the Team Is Looking For
We are looking for a candidate who brings the right attitude, communication skills, and problem‑solving instinct. The team is looking for:
- Fluent French & English: Strong communication skills in both languages to interact smoothly across teams.
- Genuine
- Financial
Curiosity: An eager mindset that looks "beyond the database." You don’t need to be a quant, but you should actually want to understand the real financial products (bonds, swaps, equities) behind the data strings.
- Pragmatism & Resourcefulness: A smart problem‑solver who prioritizes ruthlessly.
You secure quick wins for simple issues and avoid falling down one‑hour technical rabbit holes over minor glitches while traders are waiting.
- The "Translator" Ability: Social intelligence to act as a bridge between two different worlds.
You know how to talk to a stressed trader without drowning them in server logs, and you can explain issues to developers without confusing them with trading jargon.
- Solid IT Foundations: Basic‑to‑intermediate experience with Linux/UNIX command line and SQL for querying databases.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide live, real‑time IT support for Front Office trading platforms during market hours.
- Monitor real‑time trading activity, investigate system behavior, and resolve production incidents.
- Manage real‑time market data configurations and support electronic execution workflows.
- Collaborate closely with both Trading Desks and Development/Infrastructure teams.
- Participate in change management, testing, and system release deployments.
Requirements
- Languages: Fluent French and English (written and spoken).
- Prior experience in IT support with working knowledge of Linux/UNIX and basic SQL.
- Why Join MARGO
- Access to demanding Front Office trading environments
- Exposure to live trading systems and business users
- Progressive technical and functional development paths
- Human‑sized consultancy with close support and tailored training
- Long‑term career opportunities across support, engineering and development
Please note - We do not offer visa sponsorship for this position.
