The Role
Margene is seeking a Design & Development Intern to support the studio across design, pattern cutting, and development. Working closely with the design team, this role will contribute to the day-to-day activities of the studio.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Development
- Assist with draping, pattern cutting, and garment development within the studio.
- Support the preparation and adjustment of toiles during the sampling process.
- Assist with fittings, taking notes, and implementing pattern corrections.
- Prepare patterns and development documentation.
Studio Support
- Assist with cutting, preparing, and organising fabrics and materials.
- Support the preparation of garments for fittings, presentations, and photography.
- Assist with general studio activities as required.
Skills & Experience
- Must be on a placement year from univeristy
- Strong interest in garment construction and pattern development.
- Basic knowledge of draping and pattern cutting.
- Attention to detail and careful handling of garments and materials.
- Ability to work with precision in a studio environment.
- Currently studying or recently graduated in fashion design or a related discipline.
