Interested in becoming a Swimming Teacher? Sport Aberdeen is looking for motivated and enthusiastic swimming teachers to join our award-winning programme delivering aquatics lessons at 6 venues across the city. We are committed to providing quality swimming tuition for all ages, from birth to adulthood, and are looking for teachers with a passion for ensuring all swimmers reach their full potential. You’ll also need the ability to establish and maintain excellent relationships with our customers.

To be eligible to apply for a teaching role, you need to have the relevant swimming teacher qualification as detailed below. If you are interested in becoming an Aquatics Teacher but do not have the necessary qualifications, we can also offer you the opportunity to go through our swimming teacher training programme.

  • Aquatics Teacher Level 1: £12.98 per hour + £1.57 per hour holiday pay. Please note Aquatics teachers need UKCC Level 1 Teaching Aquatics (minimum) / Scottish Swimming Teaching Qualification (desirable) or equivalent.
  • Aquatics Teacher Level 2: £15.52 per hour + £1.87 per hour holiday pay. Please note Aquatic Teachers Level 2 need a Scottish Swimming Teaching Qualification (SSTQ) / UKCC Level 2 Teaching Aquatics – or equivalent PLUS evidence of continuous professional development.
  • Aquatics Teacher Level 3: £17.75 per hour + £2.14 per hour holiday pay. Please note Aquatic Teachers Level 3 need: a Scottish Swimming Teaching Qualification (SSTQ) / UKCC Level 2 Teaching Aquatics – or equivalent PLUS evidence of continuous professional development, PLUS significant experience and/or qualification in early years swimming OR additional support needs swimming provision.
