Company Overview
Marfa Stance is a luxury British outerwear brand redefining how we consume fashion. Our philosophy is rooted in creating long-lasting pieces designed to be enhanced rather than replaced. With a strong focus on community, creativity, and responsible design, we are building a movement that celebrates individuality and entrepreneurship. This is an exciting time to join our dynamic and growing team as we embark on new projects, collaborations, and elevated brand experiences.
About the Role
This is fundamentally an inventory and data analytics role. The Associate Manager, Inventory & Data Analytics will own the integrity of our inventory data and deliver the analytical insight that drives smarter decisions across the business — from intake planning and stock allocation through to pricing, sell-through, and channel performance. You will be the analytical engine that Merchandising, E-commerce, Finance, Production, Design, and Sales all draw on. Rather than sitting within merchandising, you act as an independent, data-first partner to those teams — translating complex inventory and performance data into clear, actionable business strategies. The right person thinks in numbers, communicates in narratives, and is energised by the idea of building robust analytical infrastructure inside a fast-growing brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Inventory Analytics & Performance Management
- Own end-to-end inventory visibility across all channels (DTC, wholesale, pop-ups, and emerging channels), ensuring data accuracy and analytical rigour.
- Drive weekly and monthly inventory reviews, identifying risks, opportunities, and recommended actions with clear data backing.
- Monitor and analyse key inventory KPIs including sell-through, stock turns, weeks of supply, and aged inventory — flagging trends proactively.
- Build and maintain a robust WSSI (Weekly Sales, Stock & Intake) framework to support forward-looking inventory planning.
- Develop scenario models and forecasting tools to support intake, allocation, and replenishment decisions.
- Proactively identify excess, slow-moving, or at-risk inventory and model recommended strategies (pricing interventions, channel shifts, bundling, promotions).
- Strategic Analytics & Business Insight
- Translate complex data analysis into clear, concise business narratives and recommendations for senior leadership.
- Analyse customer behaviour, product performance, channel trends, and market dynamics to surface actionable opportunities.
- Contribute to scenario planning and financial forecasting models that support assortment and revenue planning.
- Provide forward-looking insight that supports revenue growth, margin expansion, and improved inventory productivity.
- Identify structural opportunities to optimise product lifecycle planning and channel strategy, surfacing findings to the relevant business owners.
- Pricing & Profitability Analysis
- Support pricing strategy through scenario modelling and margin analysis across channels.
- Conduct pricing elasticity and performance analysis to inform retail architecture and product positioning.
- Partner with Finance to align margin targets with inventory flow and sell-through strategies.
- Gather and synthesise competitive pricing intelligence to provide context for pricing decisions.
- Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as the primary analytical resource for Merchandising, E-commerce, Finance, Production, Design, and Sales teams — providing data, models, and insight on demand.
- Present findings and recommendations in leadership and planning meetings, influencing decisions with confidence and clarity.
- Ensure inventory strategy and analytical outputs are aligned with overall company growth objectives.
- Support business reviews and strategic planning sessions with structured, forward-looking reporting.
- Reporting & Operational Excellence
- Maintain and continuously improve weekly and monthly sales and inventory dashboards.
- Build scalable, self-serve reporting frameworks that increase visibility and reduce decision-making lag across the business.
- Introduce and embed best practices in data hygiene, forecasting methodology, and inventory reporting.
- Support inventory and sample management processes with improved systems and tracking discipline.
- Drive process improvements that enhance operational transparency and flexibility across the DTC business.
Who You Are
- Deeply analytical — you are most comfortable in data and use it to drive every recommendation you make.
- A clear communicator who can translate complex analysis into business language that non-technical stakeholders understand and act on.
- Confident presenting to senior leadership and influencing cross-functional decisions with data.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and a genuine sense of ownership over your work and outputs.
- Energised by fast-moving, growing brand environments where structure is still being built.
- Curious about fashion and product — you understand that context makes data more powerful.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related analytical field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in inventory planning, retail analytics, supply chain analysis, or a closely related data-heavy role.
- Demonstrated experience managing WSSI frameworks and inventory planning across multiple channels.
- Advanced Excel proficiency — you are fluent in complex modelling, not just reporting.
- Experience with ERP systems, inventory planning tools, or merchandising platforms.
- Experience building dashboards or working with BI tools (e.g. Looker, Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Familiarity with using AI tools to support data modelling or analytical workflows is a plus.
