The Technology Department delivers differentiation, scalability and security for the business. Reporting to the CTO, Technology provides digital tools, software services and infrastructure globally to all business groups. Software development and support teams work in agile streams aligned to specific business areas. The group’s governance functions define Technology-wide standards, controls and reporting to meet financial, strategic, assurance and regulatory obligations.
This role works closely with the Business Technology function to deliver Technology services to Marex’s business divisions. Each Business Technology team is aligned to a Marex business division and collaborates with corresponding Development and Application Support teams to coordinate delivery. The Technology Change Portfolio is overseen to ensure alignment with business strategy and to drive productivity, transparency and predictability across the delivery lifecycle.
The Technology Portfolio Manager is responsible for aligning the Technology Change Portfolio with the organisation’s strategy and for driving visibility and governance across the delivery lifecycle. The role provides timely Management Information (MI) on portfolio performance and acts as a primary point of contact for planning, prioritisation and status of the Technology book of work.
Responsibilities- Portfolio Governance & Alignment: Ensure the Technology Change Portfolio is fully aligned with business strategy, priorities, and desired outcomes.
- Governance oversight: Oversee the governance of the Technology Change Portfolio, including adherence to group and industry best-practice standards.
- Stakeholder engagement: Act as the primary Technology contact for the central change function, ensuring consistent engagement and alignment.
- Reporting & Management Information: Provide regular MI and progress updates for change portfolio checkpoint meetings and other stakeholder forums.
- MI alignment: Ensure MI demonstrates alignment of deliverables to strategy, milestones, dependencies, and risks.
- Delivery Oversight & Stakeholder Engagement: Support Heads of Technology in driving delivery execution, ensuring timelines and milestones are met; partner with Business Project Managers to oversee key change initiatives and provide visibility of contributions, risks, issues, dependencies and status.
- Benefits realisation: Generate and maintain a benefits realisation plan to ensure change initiatives deliver measurable organisational value.
- Quality Assurance & Framework Consistency: Ensure deliverables (Epics) are defined with complete and accurate data; produce exception reporting to improve data quality and delivery discipline; ensure consistency across Technology in the change framework.
- Continuous Improvement: Embed a culture of continuous improvement; define meaningful KPIs to provide actionable insights; identify opportunities to enhance processes, tools and governance structures.
- Previous experience in a PMO within a Financial Services environment
- Knowledge of JIRA (Atlassian) and related tooling
- Excellent understanding of Agile methodology and its application within Technology
- Self-starter, with ability to analyse complex situations and define approach
- Stakeholder management and business analysis
- Delivery focused, with entrepreneurial and leadership skills
- Formal PMO training such as P30, PMO Administration or Managing Successful Programs (MSP)
- Project planning, coordination and execution
- Previous experience with a Financial Services organisation
- Recognised qualifications in Agile
- Agile and Scrum development methodologies
- Understanding of Benefits Realisation plans and outputs
- Enterprise reporting (PowerBI preferred)
- Experience in a regulated environment with knowledge of risk and compliance requirements
- Collaborative team player who is approachable, self-efficient and can influence a positive work environment
