Role Summary

This role is within the Solutions COO team within the Marex Solutions department .

Marex Solutions is a division of Marex providing investment banking solutions with a fintech mindset.

We aim to become the world’s leading manufacturer of cross asset, customised derivatives.

Supporting the Solutions COO team to manage the solutions business, you will take a leading role in building and scaling the operational infrastructure to support the rapid growth of this business, as well as defining and delivering the strategy for the Solutions business

As a liaison between the Solutions business and Control and Support functions of the wider group, you will be a key contact and the go to person for both divisions.

Working alongside COO and Sales/Trading functions in delivering projects related to the initial creation, processing and automation of the solutions product offering, enabling the business to keep growing sustainably and integrating expansion opportunities when they arise.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Vice President to join the team, bringing established expertise in Structured Products and Business Management.

  • As a central player in the business, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Leading the delivery of new business initiatives for the business following and improving the groups change process which have a technology focus
  • Owning the automation of existing MI and KPIs to effectively monitor and steer the business
  • Driving and championing change for the Marex Solutions team by reviewing existing process and identifying enhancements via automation and use of technology
  • Leading the delivery of key new inhouse build technology platforms as well as the roll out of third-party systems.
  • You are an entrepreneurial individual with deep front to back understanding of structured products. Used to optimise and drive automation.
  • You think outside of the box and always try to have a solution for any problem you encounter

Responsibilities

• Your role will support the Solutions COO team in the following

  • Managing the day-to-day running of the Solutions business, with a heavy focus on the Derivatives Engine and Technology areas
  • Leading the delivery of both strategic and tactical projects that are critical for the Solutions business and improving the groups change process:
  • Generates ideas on how to improve the management of new business initiatives
  • Responsible for the effective communication with key stakeholders
  • Responsible for establishing Project plans, identifying scope and owning end-to-end delivery
  • Creating, reviewing and improve existing MI and KPIs to effectively monitor and steer the business
  • Creating transparency around costs and budgets and driving efficiencies and cost reductions and proactively trying to rationalise costs where possible
  • Reviews Marex Solutions cost base and budget, including initiating and implementing measures to control and reduce them in a sustainable manner
  • Ensuring effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes and identifying ways to improve them
  • Cooperate closely with support teams and the business to complete tasks and projects on schedule and clearly communicate progress
  • Promote innovation and work on idea generation
  • Leading the assessment of existing platforms and delivering the IT strategy for the Marex Solutions team.
  • Lead regulatory initiatives/projects with the subject matter experts together with Legal and Compliance
  • Ensure the business is conducted in accordance with local and general regulatory rules
  • Ensure that compliance and other compulsory trainings are up to date
  • Ensure a clear communication to manager
  • Mentoring and developing more junior members of the team, acting as an escalation point and role model
  • Managing Marex Solutions’ cost base and budget, including initiating and implementing measures to control and reduce them in a sustainable manner
